Life's Longing

I have reveled in our bliss
Of body, mind and soul.

But now the rose is wilted.
The carnations are drooping.
The end of innocence has come.

I have tasted moments of connection,
Those epiphanies from the heart
That affirm our being in the universe.

But now our path seems agitated
As we continue on our journey
To satisfy life's longing for itself.

Whatever comes will bless us
With it's pleasure and pain
That reveals life's lessons for us.

I seem to need you in this way
To validate my deepest essence.
