What purpose do you serve?
Do you help or hinder us?

Are distant abstractions of what really is.
What essence of man do you capture?
Do you destroy the very essence you reflect?
You enhance our knowledge
While you take away our wisdom.
You document our history
While you take away our experience. |

I say if you do not know history
You may be blessed to transcend it.
To move beyond one's own history,
Is to transcend the Library of the brain.
This is an individual task
And a challenge to humankind. |
The Library is a servant not a god to worship.
