Work with these seven subpersonalities took place individually in terms of their 1) dynamic, 2) manifestation and 3) source. I used this framework for understanding them well enough that my observer could notice and record incidents which they acted out. Examples of recent incidents are shown. As the personal acting out behaviors were clear, I transformed the energy in a way consistent with their subpersonality family. Working in this way, I flowed back and forth between the personal and transpersonal dimensions of growth.

I carried a card listing these shadow elements inside a folded dollar bill. As often as possible, I took it out to see what was going on in my shadow dance. For instance at a restaurant with a companion, I checked the card while she went to the restroom. The degree to which these subpersonalities were running the show behind the scenes was an extraordinary discovery. I came to know what Charles Tart meant by running on "automatic pilot." Running on automatic, there was no hope of connecting with The Intuitive Self!
