Group Session Sharing and Our Magnificent Bodies

The single greatest risk from fasting is a fall where you hurt yourself. As the blood pressure drops, any sudden movement such as getting up too quickly causes light headedness which can lead to fainting. We are cautioned to get up slowly and always sit down to use the bathroom. I'm getting out of bed where I'm spending more time too quickly. That's going to require more attention on my part.

Guess what the single most important topic is when we get together in our groups? You're right it's food! This doesn't seem to be because we are hungry because none of us are now. In fact a group of us walked by a bag of jelly donuts this morning and joked about it! Everybody is very conscious about their diet. So we end up sharing a lot of ideas about how to handle our diets when we get back home.

Our group facilitator has brought in recipes and eating recommendations. We share these and chat about them. The regular group meetings help beacuse of the reinforcement I get from knowing how each of us is progressing. We have many similar experiences so it's good to know that I'm not the only one that's feeling this way or that.

You were teasing me before I left that maybe the doctor would arrange some "entertainment" for us on the weekends. Well I had a session with the massage therapist this morning, but she is definitely not the type that caused our friend to lose his job at UCF. I don't think it would matter anyway.

I watched "Sexy Bites" on HBO last night and there wasn't a sign of sexual stirrings. I don't think there's much in the way of procreation during times of famine. I guess this is yet another one of mother nature's wonderful ways of preserving the species. I'm really learning how much wisdom the body has! I'm finding the challenge is getting out of the way and letting mother nature take her course.
